Who Webflow is best suited for

Webflow is the platform we reach for when the website is a marketing asset and the visuals carry weight. Here’s an honest read of when that’s you.

Your website is a marketing asset, it carries the brand and takes paid traffic
Design quality matters more than owning the underlying platform
You want a real CMS for a blog, projects, case studies or job listings, without running WordPress
Considered motion and interaction are part of how the brand presents itself
You have a brand or design system and want it built exactly, not approximated by a theme
You want landing pages your marketing team can spin up without a developer
Webflow may not be the best fit if…
Worth flagging on a discovery call. If one of these is you, we’ll point you at a better platform.
You need customer accounts, dashboards or genuine application logic
The site depends on a specific WordPress plugin or WooCommerce store
You want to self-host, own the code and move hosts freely later
Budget is the deciding factor and a simple brochure site would do
You publish at newsroom volume, well past CMS item limits

What we build with Webflow

Marketing and brochure websites are the sweet spot, the site a brand sends paid traffic, investors and new hires to.

Marketing websites
The site the brand sends paid traffic, campaigns and investors to, built to be measured and iterated on.
Brochure and credibility sites
Five to ten pages that say clearly who you are and what you do, made with real care over type and imagery.
Portfolio and studio sites
Project-led sites for studios, architects, agencies and makers, the work shown at the size it deserves.
Landing pages and campaigns
Reusable page templates for launches and ad campaigns, so the next one takes hours instead of a sprint.
WordPress and Wix migrations
Rebuilding an existing site in Webflow with URLs, redirects and rankings carried across properly.
CMS-driven content sites
Blogs, resource libraries, team and location directories, collections, references and templates designed once.
Ask about CMS builds
Interaction-led builds
Scroll narratives, product tours and animated brand moments, budgeted as a Bespoke Build.

Design flexibility and visual control

Webflow doesn’t give you a theme to work around. It gives you the box model, so a brand system can be built exactly, type scale, grid, spacing and states all defined once and reused.

No theme to fight
Layout is built directly in flex, grid and position, so the design in the file is the design that ships, not the nearest thing a template allows.
A real class system
Type scale, colours, spacing and states defined as reusable classes and variables. Change the system once, the whole site follows.
Breakpoint-level control
Desktop, tablet, landscape and portrait each get deliberate attention, including custom breakpoints where a layout needs one.
Components and symbols
Navs, footers, cards and CTAs built as components, so a change propagates everywhere and nothing drifts out of sync.
Rich page building for marketers
New landing pages assembled from existing components and CMS content, on brand by default, without a developer queue.
Brand systems built exactly
If you have brand guidelines, they get implemented, not reinterpreted to suit what a page builder can render.

Animations and interactions, used with restraint

This is Webflow’s edge over Wix and most WordPress themes: real timeline-based interactions built visually, no plugin stack. We use motion to explain and to guide the eye, never as decoration that costs you load time.

Micro-interactions
Hover states, button feedback, nav transitions and cursor cues that make the site feel considered rather than static.
Scroll-triggered reveals
Sections, stats and imagery that arrive as you scroll, sequenced so the page reads in the order the story needs.
ScrollHoverParallaxRevealLoopMarqueeScrollHoverParallaxRevealLoopMarquee
Loops, marquees and parallax
Logo strips, ticker bands and layered depth, the touches that make a brand site feel alive without a heavy build.

WEBFLOW CMS

A structured CMS, without running WordPress

Webflow’s CMS is a set of collections you define: fields, reference relationships and templates that generate every page from one design. No plugins, no database to maintain, no theme fighting your layout, and the editing experience is a form, not a page builder your team can break.

Blog and news, with author, category and related-post references
Case studies and projects, each generating its own designed page
Team, locations and services managed in one place
Job listings, resources and downloads
Testimonials and logos reused across every page that needs them
One edit updates every page the item appears on
Collections have field and item limits by plan tier. We design the structure around your real content volume so you don’t hit a ceiling a year in.

What you can change yourself, and what we keep locked

Webflow separates design from content on purpose. Your team edits text, images and CMS items in the Editor and publishes; the layout system stays intact. That’s a feature, not a limitation, nobody accidentally drags the hero out of shape.

Page copy and images edit on the page, review, publish
CMS items new blog posts, projects, team members, jobs
SEO fields titles, meta descriptions and social images per page
Publishing go live yourself, or schedule a post
Layout and design system locked, so the brand stays consistent
Every build ends with a walkthrough and a short written guide for the edits you’ll make most often. Structural changes come back to us, usually a small hourly job.

SEO, performance and the rest of the platform

The parts of Webflow that do real work, configured properly, not just switched on.

Per-page titles and meta descriptions, clean editable URLs, canonical tags, alt text, auto sitemap and robots.txt, plus 301 redirects on migration.
Set up as part of the build
Performance
Global CDN, image compression and responsive srcsets, lazy loading, minified assets, with motion kept within a page-weight budget.

Submissions in your inbox and dashboard
Integrations

What’s included in our Webflow builds

Anyone can clone a Webflow template. The difference is a class system that stays maintainable, motion that has a reason, and a page structure built around what converts.

Request a quote
A page structure planned around what your buyers search for and ask
Copy hierarchy written to lead to one clear next step per page
A fully custom design in your brand, never a cloned Webflow template
A named class and variable system, documented so the site stays maintainable
Breakpoints laid out by hand, including a reduced-motion pass
CMS collections structured around your real content volume
On-page SEO: titles, descriptions, headings, alt text, sitemap, redirects
Images compressed and served responsively, with a page-weight budget
Forms, analytics and integrations tested end to end before launch
A handover walkthrough plus a short guide for the edits you'll make most

Northmoor Interiors

A design studio was sending high-value enquiries to a WordPress site that undersold the work: compressed imagery, a portfolio that needed a developer to update, and no way to tell a project story. We rebuilt it in Webflow around a projects collection they publish themselves.

Result
New project pages published in minutes, and a site that finally matches the work

Our Webflow design and development process

Five steps, usually two to three weeks for a Standard Build.

STEP 1
Discovery & platform check
Understand the business and the brand, then confirm Webflow is genuinely the right platform for it.
STEP 2
Structure & design
Sitemap, page structure and copy hierarchy, then a designed set of pages for sign-off.
STEP 3
Build in Webflow
Class system, components, breakpoints, CMS collections and interactions built out.
STEP 4
Content & revisions
Load your content, tune motion and SEO fields, then work through a round of changes together.
STEP 5
Launch & handover
Connect the domain, redirects and analytics, publish, then show your team how to run it.

What does a Webflow website cost?

Our Webflow Standard Build is a fixed £850, up to 5 pages, a fully custom Webflow design, CMS for a blog or listings, mobile-first responsive design, basic on-page SEO, live in two to three weeks. Larger scope, advanced interactions and integrations are quoted as a Bespoke Build.

PAID TO SITEMATE STUDIO
From £850 one-off
The design and build of your website. Fixed price for a Standard Build, or a scoped quote for anything larger.
PAID SEPARATELY TO WEBFLOW
Your Webflow subscription
Webflow hosts your site, so a Webflow Site Plan is required and billed by Webflow directly to you, on your own account. It is not included in our build fee and we don’t mark it up. If your team edits content you may also need a Workspace seat. We’ll tell you which tier you need before you buy, a CMS site needs a higher plan than a static brochure site.
Because Webflow owns the hosting, our Sitemate hosting and care plans aren’t required for a Webflow build, we can still be booked for design changes, new pages and support. If you’d rather hosting, updates and support all came from us on one invoice, that points to WordPress or custom development instead.

When Webflow is the right choice, and when it isn’t

We build on four platforms, so we’ve no reason to talk you into this one. Webflow wins on design control, motion and a clean CMS. It loses on ownership, plugin ecosystems and anything genuinely application-shaped.

Common questions about Webflow

Is Webflow a good choice for a business website?
For a marketing or brochure website where design quality matters, it's often the best of the four platforms we build on. You get pixel-level layout control, proper interactions and a clean CMS, with hosting and security handled by Webflow. It's a poor choice for anything application-shaped, or where you need to own and self-host the code.
How much does a Webflow website cost with you?
Our Webflow Standard Build is a fixed £850 for up to five pages, with a fully custom design, CMS for a blog or listings, mobile-first responsive design and basic on-page SEO, typically live in two to three weeks. Larger scope, advanced interactions and integrations are quoted as a Bespoke Build. Full detail is on our pricing page.
Is the Webflow subscription included in that price?
No. Webflow hosts your site, so a Webflow Site Plan is required and paid directly to Webflow on your own account, separately from our build fee. If your team edits content you may also need a Workspace seat. We advise which tier you need before you buy and we don't add anything on top.
Do I need a hosting or care plan from you as well?
No. Hosting, SSL, CDN and backups all sit inside your Webflow Site Plan, so our Sitemate hosting and care plans aren't required for Webflow builds. We can still be booked for design changes, new pages and support as you need them.
Can my team edit the site without breaking the design?
Yes, and that separation is deliberate. Your team edits text, images, SEO fields and CMS items in the Webflow Editor and publishes; the layout and class system stay locked. Structural changes come back to us, usually as a small job.
How does Webflow compare to WordPress?
Webflow gives better design control, real interactions and nothing to maintain. WordPress gives you ownership, a huge plugin ecosystem, unlimited content volume and portability between hosts. If the site is a marketing asset, Webflow. If it's a content engine or needs specific plugins, WordPress.
Is Webflow good for SEO?
Yes. You get full control of titles, meta descriptions, URLs, canonical tags, alt text, structured data via custom code, an automatic sitemap and 301 redirects, on fast CDN-backed hosting. We set all of that up during the build, and rankings still come mostly from structure, content and links.
Will the animations slow the site down?
Not if they're budgeted. Webflow interactions are lightweight compared with a stack of WordPress animation plugins, but motion still costs something. We keep a page-weight budget, honour reduced-motion preferences and test on mid-range phones, not just a fast laptop.
Can you migrate my existing WordPress or Wix site to Webflow?
Yes, that's a common project. We map the existing URLs, rebuild the pages properly, move content into CMS collections and put 301 redirects in place so search rankings carry over. We'll quote it once we've seen the size of the current site.
Can I move off Webflow later?
More easily than Wix, less easily than WordPress. Your domain and content are yours, and Webflow lets you export static code, though CMS content and interactions don't come with it, a move means rebuilding. If you expect that within a couple of years, say so early and we'll look at WordPress instead.
Can Webflow handle e-commerce?
For a small product range it can, but for a serious catalogue, stock control and fulfilment we'd point you to our dedicated e-commerce service instead, built on Shopify or WooCommerce depending on what fits.
